Rose Castle

Churches & Historical Buildings

With its 800 year history, Rose Castle at Dalston was bought in 2106 by The Rose Castle Company who are only the third owner of this magnificent building. The new owners set out to carry out a full renovation and some re-modelling to bring the Castle up to 21st Century standards while maintaining traditional materials and detailing.

lambert-gill were entrusted to carry out this prestigious project and commenced work in 2019. The work was delayed by Covid and was eventually completed in 2023.

From new ensuites and renovation of bedrooms down through the staterooms, library and chapel to the mahogany parquet ground floor which was lifted, cleaned and carefully re-set, the whole Castle was sympathetically renovated and then fully decorated with Edward Bulman paints made from plant based natural materials in keeping with the Owners commitment to sustainability.

Our Joiners Shop produced high quality purpose made joinery to help restore the historic features of the building and our team worked in close collaboration with our Client to ensure that the finished project did justice to what had come before.
