Stuart Eastwood BA AMA, Curator

On behalf of the Trustees and Staff of Cumbria s Museum of Military Life, I would like to thank you and all members of your workforce who completed the building work on Alma Block at Carlisle Castle as part of our major £1.7 million Heritage Lottery Fund supported project.

The restoration of this Grade II listed building, an important part of our Regiment's and the Castle's military heritage, is a major part of this project. Not only has the work fulfilled the brief of converting this building for use as the new location of our Regimental Museum, but it has also restored many features of the original. The management of the work the high standards of workmanship and attention to detail have been outstanding, as well as being completed on time and in budget I am particularly grateful to your staff and those from the sub-contractors who have worked so closely with the Museum team and taken such a close interest in the project to produce a result that we are delighted with.

We look forward to completing the fit out of our project shortly and to occupying and using the newly refurbished premises.
